
1. There has been a startling new trend of renting out Funeral Homes for special occasions, mostly because of the venue’s low prices. Who would have thought you could have your wedding reception, kids birthday party, or graduation party at a funeral home? Anything is possible in this day and age. That’s why I chose to rebrand a local funeral home, making it “the hangout spot after dark.” The plan is to only create promotion targeting a niche market for its nighttime events, and this way the Blount and Curry Funeral home can still keep it’s day job.

2. What type of person would be willing to go on a Friday date night to a funeral home? Well, it’s the Twilight-loving-undead-dressing-Marilyn-Manson-listening goth crowd; teens and young adults who have embraced that niche counter culture lifestyle. Turning the Blount and Curry Funeral Home into the new hangout spot with events like movie nights would bring in our target market throughout the area, boosting Blount & Curry’s profit and creating a buzz around the brand.

3. Creating a logo redesign specifically for event promotional items centered around the new gothic-esque atmosphere would allow Blount and Curry a duel personality. In this way, the existing target market will not be scared off in any way or turned off by the change, but the new logo will bring in those infatuated with the gothic appeal of the new logo.

4. We want to meet the target audience at their level, and due to our age demographic of young teens to young adults, the target audience will be connected to media platforms such as Facebook. Because of this, promoting Blount and Curry’s events through Facebook Event Pages will be an effective means to reach our target audience, as well as begin to create a community around the rebrand.

5. Fliers and invitations will be dispersed throughout the local community with the tagline, “celebrate closest to your loved ones.” The black humor of the ads will appeal to the target audience’s personality. There will be a call to action located on the fliers pushing the target audience to Blount and Curry’s website which will dedicate a page to their nighttime activities.
